The most important reason to build a solid foundation of faith is to get to know Jesus in a deeper and more intimate way. As you begin to build on each foundation stone – your love for Jesus will deepen, your faith will be strengthened and you will experience a growing confidence to share your faith with others. Jesus highlights the importance of laying a solid foundation for our faith in Matthew 7:24-27 ‘Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.’

Another very important reason to build a solid foundation of faith, is that it will support us through all of life’s trials and challenges. It will also be a strong anchor for others to help them weather the storms of life the Bible clearly tells us will come in 1 Peter 1:6-7 ‘In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honour when Jesus Christ is revealed.'
